வட அமெரிக்கத் தமிழ்ச்சங்கங்களின் கூட்டமைப்பான
“பெட்னா” ஆண்டுவிழாவினை அமெரிக்க மாநிலம் ஒன்றில் மிகச்சிறப்பாக ஆண்டுதோறும் கொண்டாடிவருகின்றது.
அமெரிக்காவில் வாழும் தமிழ் உணர்வாளர்கள் ஒரே குடும்பமாகக் கூடிக் கொண்டாடும் இந்த
விழாவில் பல்வேறு நிகழ்வுகள் நடைபெறும். இந்த ஆண்டின் சிறப்பு நிகழ்வாகக் குறும்படப் போட்டி ஒன்றை அறிவித்துள்ளது.
இந்தப் போட்டியில் தமிழர்களின் வாழ்க்கையை, பண்பாட்டை, அடையாளத்தை வெளிக்கொணரும் குறும்படங்களுக்குப்
பரிசில்கள் வழங்கப்பட உள்ளன. குறும்பட ஆர்வலர்கள் இப்போட்டியில் கலந்துகொண்டு பரிசில்களைப்
பெறலாம். இந்தச் செய்தியை நண்பர்களுக்கும் தெரியப்படுத்துங்கள்.

இருந்து தெரிவு செய்து விருது மற்றும் 3
குறும்படங்களுக்குப் பரிசு வழங்க முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
தமிழ்த் திரைப்படத்துறையின் உயரிய படைப்பாளி ஒருவரைத் தலைவராகக் கொண்டு இயங்கும் நடுவர் குழு மூலம்
இந்தப் படங்கள் தேர்வு செய்யப்படும்.
இந்தப் போட்டி மூலம் ஆர்வமும், திறமையும், ஆற்றலும் உள்ள இளைஞர்களைத் தேர்வு செய்து
தமிழ் உலகிற்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்தவும், விருது
பெறுகின்ற சிறந்த குறும்படங்களை அமெரிக்காவின் அனைத்துத் தமிழ்ச் சங்கங்களுக்கும் பரிந்துரைக்கவும் பெட்னா குழு முடிவு
செய்துள்ளது.
குறும்படங்கள் தெரிவு செய்யப்படுவதற்கான நெறிமுறைகள்:
• தமிழ் மொழி , தமிழர்கள், புலம் பெயர்ந்த தமிழர்கள் சார்ந்தவையாகப் படைப்புகள் இருக்கவேண்டும்.
• இணையங்களில் ஏற்கெனவே வெளியான
குறும்படங்கள் என்றால், அதுகுறித்த குறிப்பை / சுட்டியை (டிவிடியுடன்) கட்டாயம் தர
வேண்டும்.
• ஏற்கெனவே பங்கேற்ற விழாக்கள், பெற்ற விருதுகள் பற்றியும் குறிப்பிட்டிருக்க வேண்டும்.
• பெட்னாவின் குறும்படப் போட்டிக்கென்று உருவாக்கப்பட்ட குறும்படங்களுக்கு முன்னுரிமை வழங்கப்படும்.
• ஏற்கனவே வெளியீடு செய்யப்படாத படங்களாக
இருந்தால் வரவேற்கப்படும்.
• 2013, 2014 ஆம் வருடங்களில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட படங்கள் மட்டும் போட்டியில் பங்குபெறலாம்.
• குறும்படங்கள் 15 - 20 நிமையங்களுக்கு உட்பட்டதாக இருக்கவேண்டும்.
• சட்டச் சிக்கல்கள் ஏதும் வந்தால் அதற்குப் பெட்னாவோ அல்லது நடுவர்களோ பொறுப்பாக மாட்டார்கள்.
குறும்படங்களை அனுப்ப நிறைவுநாள்:
• உங்கள் குறும்படங்களை 25.05.2014- நாளுக்கு முன்னதாகப் பதிவுசெய்து / அனுப்பவேண்டும்.
• எங்கள் பார்வைக்கான DVD (with
region 0) அல்லது Blue Ray படிகள் இரண்டு தங்களின்
சொந்த செலவில் அனுப்பி வைக்கவேண்டும். இவை
அமெரிக்காவில் உள்ள மின்னணுக் கருவிகளில் பார்க்கக் கூடிய வகையில் இருக்க
வேண்டும்.
• தெரிவு செய்யப்பட்ட திரைப்படங்கள்
குறித்த விவரம் எங்கள் இணையத்தளத்திலும், உலகெங்கிலும்
உள்ள தமிழ் ஊடகங்களின் மூலமும் அறிவிக்கப்படும்.
குறும்படங்கள் - சில வழிகாட்டுதல்கள்
• தமிழ் மொழியையும், தமிழர்களுடைய கலை, பண்பாட்டையும்
அடையாளப் படுத்துவதாக இருக்கும் படங்களுக்கு முன்னுரிமை அளிக்கப்படும்.
• தமிழ்ச் சமூகத்தை மேம்படுத்தும் சிந்தனைகளைத் தூண்டும் படங்களுக்கு முன்னுரிமை அளிக்கப்படும்.
• தமிழ் இலக்கியங்கள், தமிழர் வரலாறு சார்ந்த படங்களுக்கு முதன்மை அளிக்கப்படும் .
• ஆங்கிலத்தில் துணைத்தலைப்பு இருத்தல் நன்று.
• தமிழ் மொழி – பண்பாட்டை முதன்மைப்படுத்தி, ஆங்கிலத்தில் குறும்படங்கள்
இருந்தாலும் நலம்.
• எங்கள் தேர்வுக்குழுவால் தெரிவு
செய்யப்படும் படங்கள் மட்டுமே ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படும். நடுவர்களின் முடிவே இறுதி.
• போட்டிக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட எந்தப்
படத்தின் காணொளிவட்டுகளை (டிவிடியையும்) திருப்பி அனுப்ப இயலாது. அதே நேரம் அவற்றைப் பெட்னா தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் பயன்படுத்தாது.
• உங்களுடைய குறும்படப் படிகள் மீண்டும் தேவைப்படின் அதை அனுப்புவதற்கான செலவினை ஏற்று
வேண்டுமானால் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளலாம்.
பரிசு விவரம்:
தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்ட குறும்படங்களில்
முதல் இடம் பிடிக்கும் இரு படங்களுக்கு 500 அமெரிக்க
டாலர்கள் பரிசளிக்கப்படும்.
இரண்டாவது இடத்துக்கு மூன்று படங்கள்
தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டு முறையே 200 டாலர்கள் வழங்கப்படும்.
மூன்றாவது பரிசுக்கு 5 படங்கள் தேர்வு செய்யப்படும். பரிசு முறையே 100 டாலர்கள்.
இந்தப் படங்கள் வரும் சூலை மாதம் அமெரிக்காவின் செயின்ட் லூயிசில் நடைபெறவிருக்கும் பெட்னா தமிழ் விழாவில் திரையிடப்படும்.

FeTNA plans to select ten short films which are
based on Tamil society and culture, out of which three will be given awards or
cash prizes. All ten films will be screened during the 27th FeTNA Convention in
Saint Louis, Missouri, USA.
The short films to be screened will be selected by a
panel of judges headed by a well-known movie-maker.
This contest has been organized by FeTNA to
encourage enthusiastic and talented young film makers. We hope that the
experience of participating in this contest will help pave the way for aspiring
movie makers to venture into feature film projects.
FeTNA will also recommend the screening of the
selected short films to all Tamil Sangams in North America .
Rules and Regulations:
1. The duration of the short films entered for the
contest must be within 15 to 20 minutes.
2. The expenses involved in submission is the
responsibility of the contestant. The films need to be submitted on a DVD
format (with region 0) or Blue Ray format (two copies of DVD or Blue Ray) which
could be played on any consumer models in the US. If the short film is already
on the internet, then the URL link must be provided along with the DVD.

3. If the entry has already participated in other
film festivals or competitions, the list of such competitons/festivals must be
attached along with the list of prizes/awards won.
4. Only films produced in the year 2013 or 2014 are
eligible for the competition. .
5. All the responsibilities of copyright rests with
the producer or the director or the person who submits the film as the case may
be and FeTNA has no stake in it.
6. In case of any litigation FeTNA nor the members
of the Jury will be held responsible.
7. The short films entered for the contest must
engage with themes that address Tamil culture -- any of the topics related to
heritage, literature, language, art, traditions, social issues specific to the
community or the diaspora, conflicts between tradition and modernity,
acculturation and alienation, inter communal/racial/religious marriage etc.
These topics are only suggestions; the subject could be Tamil in any broad
sense—the only requirement is the film must address the theme in a substantial
way.
8. Entries which are made especially for the FeTNA
competition will be given preference.
9. Entries which are not yet released are very
welcome.
Due Date:
All the short films for the competition must be
registered with FeTNA and received by 25th of May, 2014.
The list of selected films will be announced on
FeTNA’s website and sent to popular media sites for maximum publicity.
Short Films – Some Guidelines:
It will be preferable to have English subtitles.
Movies can also be in English portraying Tamil
language, culture or society.
The jury’s decision is final and binding.
FeTNA cannot return the DVD’s (or equivalent) unless
the sender pays for the postage. However FeTNA will not use them in any way
other than what has been disclosed above.
Some selected films may be shown as special
screenings though may not be part of the competiton.

First prize (two movies will be selected) - $500/each.
Second Prize(three movies will be selected) -
$200/each
Third Prize (Five movies will be selected) -
$100/each
Special mention (Five movies will be selected)
All the above movies will be screened during the
FeTNA Convention during July 4-5 2014 in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA
